This WHS is composed of four churches across the Philippines. They were built by the Spanish between 16^th and 18^th century CE. The architectural style is a reinterpretation of the European Baroque by Philippine and Chinese craftsmen, with a consideration of local physical conditions and materials as well as decorative motifs. These churches would serve as important influences on later churches built in the region.

The four churches are:

• Miagao Church, province of Iloilo
• Paoay Church, province of Ilocos Norte
• San Augustin Church, city of Manila in the National Capital Region
• Santa Maria Church, province of Ilocos Sur
