criteria. Cultural
The Dresden Elbe Valley is a cultural landscape which dates from the 18th to 19th century CE, situated along some 18km of the eponymous river. It encompasses natural, rural, and urban features, including the city centre of Dresden, which houses monuments and parks dating from 16th to 20th century CE, and elements attesting to the advent of the Industrial Revolution in the region.

In 2007, construction of Waldschlösschen Bridge, which spans across the valley, began. It was deemed that this would destroy the integrity of the World Heritage Site. However, the decision was made to proceed with the plans, and in 2009, the site was delisted.
